Oct 4-25 Happiness and the Power of the Mind

SUNDAYS 11am-12:15pm with Kadam Kelly Loeffelmann

About This Series (Online or In Person or Watch this class for up to a week after it “airs”)

What’s the most important, influential, rewarding thing you can do in this life?

According to Buddhism: it’s to learn how to be truly happy, and to share that experience with others.

If we know how to be truly happy, we can be like a wish-fulfilling jewel, with the power to bestow peace and happiness on everyone around us.

At this series of morning meditation classes, learn what happiness is (and isn’t); how to develop the power to be happy; and how to maintain it, no matter what challenges life brings.

Oct 4 – Contentment
Oct 11 – Acceptance
Oct 18 – Joy
Oct 25 – Gratitude

Location: Amitabha Kadampa Buddhist Centre or Online with Zoom

Cost: $12/class or $40/series or free for Members

Nov 1-29 The Stages of the Path

Buddha gave 84,000 teachings. The average life span in Canada is just 30,112 days. What hope do we have?

Fortunately, the Indian Buddhist master Atisha created a special set of instructions that contain all the essential teachings of Buddhism. We call this the stages of the path to enlightenment, or Lamrim in Tibetan. When we gain experience of Lamrim, at any level, our mind is protected from turbulence and discomfort.

Think of it like the kindest, most meaningful CliffsNotes.

In a special series of evening meditation classes, conceived especially for these unusual times, you can systematically learn the essential meaning of Buddha’s instructions.

Nov 1 – A precious life
Nov 8 – Living as if each day is your last
Nov 15 – Three sources of real happiness
Nov 22 – No class due to the Western Canada Dharma Celebration
Nov 29 – Why Me? Teachings on Karma

Location: Amitabha Kadampa Buddhist Centre or Online with Zoom

Cost: $12/class or $40/series or free for Members
